Unseasonably warm conditions continue this afternoon with highs in the lower to middle 70s across much of the region. This is about 20 degrees above normal for late February.
It's never the wrong time to be thinking about severe weather safety. Know where you will go when a warning is issued.
A line of severe storms will move into the Plateau late Friday night into early Saturday morning. Damaging winds and hail up to the size of quarters will be the main threat but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. The main timeframe will be from 9 pm Friday through 4 am Saturday.
Warm temperatures will continue today through Friday, then a cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms Friday night and early Saturday. The front will move through the area Saturday morning, then clearing skies and cooler temperatures will follow.
