Clouds will continue to blanket the area for most of the day, then another round of rain will start to spread from south to north this afternoon. Rain will continue across the area tonight into Tuesday morning, with a few isolated thunderstorms possible.
Totatl rainfall amounts from this afternoon through Tuesday are expected to exceed one inch across the area.
An arctic-like air-mass will move into the Tennessee Valley and southern Appalachians by late week. Lows will drop into the teens to lower 20s and highs only in the middle 20s to middle 30s by Friday.
The East Tennessee Mountains will have windy conditions tonight, beginning near midnight and continuing into Tuesday afternoon. South winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts around 40 mph are expected, mainly in elevations at or above 3000 feet.
