June Brings Above Normal Rainfall and Near Normal Temperatures to the Tennessee Valley and Southern Appalachians

 

June resulted in above normal rainfall for most of the region with near normal temperatures at each site. The Tri-Cities and Knoxville were both significantly above normal for rainfall making this a "Top 5" wettest year to date at both sites. All sites continue to be much above normal for the year with Chattanooga having the 8th wettest year to date on record.

 

June 2019 Summary

 

Precipitation was above normal at each site for June, but was much above normal at Tri-Cities and Knoxville. Through the end of June, this is the 2nd wettest year to date for Tri-Cities (33.48"), the 5th wettest year to date for Knoxville (39.22"), and 8th wettest year to date for Chattanooga (39.03").
