Area of showers and isolated thunderstorms will move across the area later this afternoon into Friday morning. Some of this activity may be heavy at times, with forecasted rainfall totals expected to exceed 1 inch over the southern portion of the area.
A warm wet weekend is expected for the Tennessee Valley. An active weather pattern will bring a series of low pressure systems across the region, with rain showers likely at times each day. Some thunderstorms possible late today and Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures will be 15 to 20 degrees above normal.
