Hi, I'm Jack Hayes, director of the National Weather Service.

Our partnership with you over the years has helped protect the lives and property of Americans all over the country.

The National Weather Service works hard to serve the needs of our customers and partners like you and to earn your trust, especially when severe weather strikes.

Since we live and work in your communities, we understand the challenges you face and are personally invested in helping you make better decisions.

We're updating the Strategic Plan for the National Weather Service. It will provide an over-arching vision and framework that defines the future path for our organization.

Throughout this process, it's important that we receive input from all Weather Service stakeholders, including you-our valued partners and customers. Your ideas on what challenges you will face and how we can adapt our services to help are vital to developing a comprehensive and realistic Strategic Plan.

On this Web page you'll find instructions on how to provide us with your comments and suggestions.

Be assured that all comments and suggestions from everyone who chooses to participate in this process-from individuals to CEOs, Directors and other leaders-will be considered. Your input matters to us.

After we've created a first draft of our Strategic Plan, you'll have the opportunity to review it and provide additional feedback. We want you to be involved throughout the process until our final plan is released.

With your help, we can continue to provide the best weather, water and climate services possible.

Thank you for your time and input. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
