Heavy Rain in the Southern Appalachians, Winter Weather in Parts of the Northwest

A storm system will bring heavy rain to the southern Appalachians Tuesday, with local flash flooding possible. Meanwhile, a strong storm system will move into the northwest late Tuesday and Wednesday, potentially bringing freezing rain and snow to parts of the Columbia River Gorge, Hood River Valley, and Cascades.
