On this date back in 1959, a severe thunderstorm moved southeast
across the Chattanooga area, dumping 4 inches of rain in 30 minutes, along with hail up to an inch in diameter, which piled up over a foot deep in bar ditches. Hail up to one and one-half inches in diameter also caused roof damage across south Oklahoma City. |
