Active Weather Continues in the West; Potent Cold Front to Move Through the East this Weekend

A complex weather system will continue to bring active conditions over the Western U.S. through early Saturday, including more heavy snowfall through the Rockies. Farther east, a potent cold front will advance through the Ohio Valley Saturday, bringing rain and a few strong thunderstorms. A cold front will move through the area and bring strong gusty north winds along with cooler air after midnight tonight.
A cold front will bring a strong wind shift to the north Friday night into Saturday morning. Strong north winds on Saturday will also create elevated to near-critical wildfire dangers.
Cooler temperatures are expected Saturday with afternoon highs in the 50s and lower 60s. North winds gusting to 30-45 mph will be possible in the morning and early afternoon before decreasing in the late afternoon.
