National Weather Service United States Department of Commerce

Benefits to broadcasters, businesses, residents and other users:

  • NWR users and broadcasters have the option to enter any number of partitions. If an NWR SAME users wants to receive warnings only for the Northeast partition, they simply insert the 6-digit code for Northeast into their receivers, e.g., 332003. These users will continue to receive warnings for large scale storms that would impact all of Clark County.
  • NWR users with SAME-equipped receivers should consult their owner's manual, or contact the manufacturer, for instructions on how to program in the new 6-digit codes.
  • If broadcasters want to only receive and convey warnings to EAS for the Northeast partition, they will program their equipment with the appropriate 6-digit location code (332003) just as residents would. Once programmed, from whatever source(s) the broadcaster monitors for EAS, only those warnings with the location code of 332003 will be sent to the public.
