...STRONG COLD FRONT BROUGHT ACCUMULATING SNOW TO THE COWBOY STATE...

After a period of well above average warmth this past weekend a
tandem of weather systems moved through the Cowboy State. The first
system brought lower elevation rain/thunderstorms, with very little
mountain snow. The second system had a strong cold front associated
with it, which dropped temperatures considerably on Wednesday. The
temperatures behind the front were cold enough for snow, but
accumulations were constrained to grassy areas/elevated surfaces at
most locations due to the warm ground from the warmth this past
weekend. The Bighorn Mountains were the winners of this event when
it comes to snowfall as amounts ranged from around a foot to a foot
and a half. Below you will find a comprehensive list of snowfall
reports from the second system during the Tuesday night through
Wednesday night time period.
