The August 2015 climate summaries for Big Piney, Buffalo, Casper, Greybull, Lake Yellowstone, Lander, Riverton, Rock Springs, and Worland are now available online. Overall, August was near average across western & central Wyoming. Several sites were dry, with Riverton seeing its 3rd driest August. Temperatures varied across the state as well, with Big Piney seeing its 3rd warmest August on record. Many sites saw a record cold morning on Sunday, August 23rd. Casper not only set a daily record low, but also saw their coldest temperature for August and earliest freeze on record! Westerly winds brought several smoke filled days in August from fires in the western US.
