On this date in weather history... In 2001, there was prolonged warmth. Until a few days before Christmas, an Indian summer environment did not want to leave. The warmest days were the 4th, 5th, and 14th. On the 5th, Hamlin and Moorefield had 81 degrees. Madison, Petersburg, and Keyser saw 80 degrees on the 5th.
