National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
1027 AM EDT Sun Oct 22 2017

...Dry weather today to give way to widespread rainfall Monday and
Monday night...

High pressure will control our weather through this evening. A strong
cold front will approach tonight and then cross the region
Monday night through Tuesday, bringing good coverage of showers and some
gusty winds. High pressure returns to the area by the latter half of
the upcoming week.

Minimum relative humidity values will steadily increase to well above
50 percent by Monday. Light transport winds and a relatively shallow
mixing heights will create poor dispersion and ventilation conditions
today, but improving conditions are expected as winds increase
ahead of the approaching cold front. Rainfall amounts of one inch
east of the Blue Ridge to two to three inches in the mountains are
possible from early Monday into early Tuesday.
