.DISCUSSION...

...A widespread wetting rain overspreads the area on Monday and
Monday evening...

A strong cold front will approach our area tonight and move through the
region Monday night. In advance of this front, showers and even a few
thunderstorms will bring one to four inches of rain by Monday night. The
greatest rainfall totals will fall from the northwest North Carolina
mountains into southeast Virginia, especially along the Blue Ridge.
High pressure returns mid-week with cooler temperatures and lower humidity
levels.
