Warm and very windy conditions will occur across our area today, and very windy conditions will continue into tonight. A Wind Advisory is in effect for all of West Central Texas, from 1 PM this afternoon until 1 AM Friday.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected across West Central Texas tonight, and may develop into a squall line. Possible thunderstorm hazards include dangerous lightning, strong gusty winds which may cause minor damage, and hail up to the size of quarters. Current rain chances are mostly 40 to 50 percent across West Central Texas.
Critical fire weather conditions are expected on Friday across the Big Country area, along and north of Interstate 20. A Fire Weather Watch is in effect for this area (shaded in orange) from 11 AM to 7 PM Friday. Gusty southwest to west winds will be combined with warm and very dry air.
