Strong southerly winds will begin to increase Monday ahead of an approaching upper level disturbance on Tuesday. A strong cap will remain in place for much of the day Tuesday suppressing thunderstorm development. The cap should weaken late Tuesday afternoon or Tuesday evening with scattered thunderstorms developing as a cold front moves into northeast Oklahoma. Any storms that develop will likely be severe with the main threat of very large hail and damaging winds, although a tornado or two can not be ruled out. The severe threat should end Wednesday morning as the line of storms shift east.
