SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

* until Thursday morning.
* At  7:30 AM Tuesday the stage was 28.3 feet.
* Flood Stage is 27.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage Thursday morning.
* Impact...At 27.0 Feet...County roads are inundated.

A DRY COLD FRONT CROSSING THE AREA IS PRODUCING GUSTY WEST WINDS
UP TO 25 MPH. IN ADDITION TO THE GUSTY WINDS...RELATIVE HUMIDITY
VALUES ACROSS THE AREA ARE DROPPING TO AROUND 30 PERCENT. THIS IS
CREATING DANGEROUS FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS.

OPEN BURNING SHOULD BE AVOIDED THIS AFTERNOON.

A FEW THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THE TENNESSEE AND ARKANSAS
BORDERS THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY THIS EVENING. THE MAIN HAZARD
WITH ANY STORMS WILL BE DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY

THERE IS A SMALL CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND
NIGHT...BUT THE PRIMARY CONCERN IS THURSDAY AFTERNOON INTO FRIDAY.
SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP ON THURSDAY AND
CONTINUE INTO FRIDAY AS A COLD FRONT MOVES SLOWLY ACROSS OUR
REGION. THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE STORMS THURSDAY AND
THURSDAY NIGHT...MAINLY OVER SOUTHEAST MISSOURI...SOUTHERN
ILLINOIS...AND EXTREME WESTERN KENTUCKY. LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING
WINDS ARE THE PRIMARY HAZARDS. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL IS ALSO
EXPECTED. PRELIMINARY INDICATIONS ARE THAT RAINFALL AMOUNTS BY
LATE FRIDAY SHOULD AVERAGE BETWEEN ONE AND TWO INCHES.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY. SEVERE
WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

OUTLOOK: NEAR BANKFULL CONDITIONS OR MINOR FLOODING WILL CONTINUE
ALONG PORTIONS OF AREA RIVERS.

HAZARDS: FLOODING.

TIMING: ONGOING.

DISCUSSION: MINOR FLOODING FROM PRIOR RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE ALONG
PORTIONS OF THE WABASH AND WHITE RIVERS. OTHERWISE...QUIET WEATHER
IS EXPECTED TODAY UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF HIGH PRESSURE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

OUTLOOK: MINOR FLOODING WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MID WEEK AT SOME
SITES ALONG AREA RIVERS. THERE WILL BE A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS
EARLY THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE
POSSIBLE...MAINLY THURSDAY. DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL WOULD BE
THE MAIN THREAT. LIGHTNING IS A THREAT FROM ANY STORM. HEAVY RAIN
IS POSSIBLE AT TIMES IN THE HEAVIER STORMS.

DISCUSSION: MINOR FLOODING WILL CONTINUE ALONG AREA RIVERS. A COLD
FRONT WILL DROP SOUTHEAST ACROSS CENTRAL INDIANA THURSDAY NIGHT
AND INTERACT WITH A MOIST AND UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE. THIS WILL
PRODUCE WIDESPREAD SHOWERS ALONG WITH SOME THUNDERSTORMS EARLY
THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.
