High Fire Danger In Parts Of The Southwest U.S. On Thursday

Strong winds and very low humidity will create dangerous fire weather conditions in parts of the Desert Southwest and southern High Plains on Thursday. Any fires that ignite could rapidly grow out of control in this region. Fire Weather Watches and Red Flag Warnings are in effect for these areas. Read More >

Center Weather Service Unit (CWSU) Miami

Mission: To constantly strive to provide the most accurate and dependable weather information possible to our FAA customers, both in-house and off-site, contributing to the safest and most efficient use of our nation's National Airspace System.

Operations:The Miami Center Weather Service Unit (ZMA CWSU) is located at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ARTCC in Miami, Florida. The CWSU is staffed 16 hours/day by four National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologists and 24 hours/day by Traffic Management Unit personnel. The meteorologists’ hours of operation are from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.
