Flooding Concerns in Puerto Rico; Thunderstorms Across the Southeast U.S.

Showers and thunderstorms capable of producing widespread heavy rainfall will be possible across much of Puerto Rico today. Heavy rainfall will likely lead to flash, urban and small stream flooding. Center Weather Service Unit (CWSU) Miami

Mission: To constantly strive to provide the most accurate and dependable weather information possible to our FAA customers, both in-house and off-site, contributing to the safest and most efficient use of our nation's National Airspace System.

Operations:The Miami Center Weather Service Unit (ZMA CWSU) is located at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ARTCC in Miami, Florida. The CWSU is staffed 16 hours/day by four National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologists and 24 hours/day by Traffic Management Unit personnel. The meteorologists’ hours of operation are from 5:15 AM to 9:00 PM daily.
