Strengthening dry and windy southwesterlies will bring a return of elevated to critical fire weather conditions Friday through Sunday, with the most widespread fire danger on Sunday afternoon when winds will likely be strongest.
Rain chances will increase across eastern NM Friday and particularly Saturday. Most likely rainfall amounts are below 0.5", but there is a less than 10% chance of rainfall totals around 2" in the far eastern plains. Most rain will be benefical, but there is a low risk of flash flooding as well.
