Several inches of snow fell across parts of western and central South Dakota on Sunday night and Monday. Amounts ranged from a few inches of snowfall all the way up to a foot of snow in north central South Dakota where a localized heavy snowfall band developed. The highest amount received was 12 inches of snow at Elm Lake in northwestern Brown County. Other heavy snowfall reports include 10 inches in Leola, 9 inches in Bowdle, 8.5 inches 11 ESE of Hosmer, 7 inches 5 W of Sully Buttes, 6.1 inches in Roscoe, and 6 inches in Gettysburg.
