Blizzard conditions befell the northeast corner of South Dakota as well as west central Minnesota late Friday night (Dec 19th) and during Saturday morning (Dec 20th).  Several inches of snow fell and then strong northwest winds picked up.  Between the falling snow and the blowing snow created by the increase in wind speeds, blizzard conditions developed early Saturday morning and persisted for several hours.  Here is a preliminary list of snow totals from around the area:
