THE NWS SURVEY TEAM CONCLUDED THAT A BRIEF TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF 119TH STREET AND 427TH AVENUE...OR ABOUT 9 MILES NORTHEAST OF LANGFORD. A LARGE METAL GARAGE SUSTAINED SUSTANTIAL ROOF DAMAGE WITH A LARGE SECTION OF THE SOUTHERN ROOF BLOWN OFF.  A SEPARATE SMALLER AND OLDER WOODEN GARAGE WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY DESTROYED...WITH DEBRIS BLOWN UP TO 100 YDS TO THE EAST/SOUTHEAST.  A FEW TREES IN THE VICINITY ALSO SUSTAINED BROKEN LIMBS. DAMAGE OF THIS MAGNITUDE WAS CONSISTENT WITH WIND SPEEDS NEAR 90 MPH...OR EF-1 DAMAGE.

 

EF SCALE: THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE CLASSIFIES TORNADOES INTO THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES.

 

EF0...WEAK......65 TO 85 MPH

EF1...WEAK......86 TO 110 MPH

EF2...STRONG....111 TO 135 MPH

EF3...STRONG....136 TO 165 MPH

EF4...VIOLENT...166 TO 200 MPH

EF5...VIOLENT...>200 MPH
