Scattered Thunderstorms Across the Eastern U.S. Today; Risk for Some Severe Thunderstorms and Flash Flooding

A cold front moving through the eastern U.S. will bring thunderstorms and heavy rainfall to that part of the country today, with localized flash flooding possible from the Northeast to the Deep South. As of February 16th, Duluth, MN has had 60 days with a temperature below zero this Winter Season (December 1st through February 28th).  This breaks the record of 59 days set in the winter season of 1916-1917 and two other seasons.  Minimum temperatures are expected to remain above zero until this weekend...then they are expected to drop back below zero.
