Extended Outlook: Shifting Back to Colder than Normal for Late December

The latest Climate Prediction Center outlooks have shifted back to colder than normal temperatures and above normal precipitation for eastern North Dakota and the northwest quarter of Minnesota for the second half of December. Read More >

Overview

A very slow moving storm system dropped over a foot of snow across the Devils Lake Basin Wednesday December 15th, with several locations having more than a foot of snow. Heavy snow extended south and east across much of eastern North Dakota and into the west central Minnesota Lakes Country as well. Due to the presence of very dry air to the north and east of this storm, there was a very sharp cut-off between where snow fell and snow did not fall. Radar Loop
