Overview

On the evening of July 8th, severe thunderstorms initiated in southeastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. These storms started off supercellular and as they progressed eastwards they organized into a line of storms. During this event, several reports of strong winds and hail were received, where the largest spotted hail size reached up to golf ball size in the town of Milnor, ND. In addition, areas of rotation were spotted on radar prompting tornado warnings, one of which occurred in the town to Milnor, ND, where a tornado with a rating of EF-1 occurred.
