Overview

During the morning hours on Sunday, February 18, 2018 a fast moving low pressure system moved through the Dakotas. This storm brought widespread snow through east central North Dakota and into north central Minnesota. While most locations received 2-6" of snow, a heavy snow band set up over northwest/north central MN and brought 9-12" to the Bemidji region. The highest reported snowfall occurred at Turtle River, MN with a 15" snowfall report. As the snow moved out during the late morning hours winds began to pick up through the Red River valley causing blowing snow and reduced visibility through the mid afternoon.
