Latest CPC Outlooks Favor a Warm Mid to Late October

The latest Climate Prediction Center outlooks show above normal temperatures continuing for the Northern Plains for late October into early November. The precipitation outlooks show below normal precipitation for the rest of October. Read More >

Overview

The potent storm that brought heavy rains, areas of slushy snows and Tropical Storm strength winds was winding down by Wednesday evening. This storm produced widespread 2 to 3 inches of rain over eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota, and dropped 2 to 6 inches of snow over Devils Lake and the west central Minnesota lakes country... with a narrow band of 8-13 inches of snow from near Carrington to Lake Metigoshe in north central North dakota.
