Addition of Avalanche Watches for the San Francisco Peaks and Kachina Peaks Wilderness beginning March 15, 2026

Effective on or about March 15, 2026, the NWS Weather Forecast Office in Flagstaff, AZ will begin relaying Avalanche Watch (AVA) products for the San Francisco Peaks and the Kachina Peaks Wilderness in Arizona on behalf of the Kachina Peaks Avalanche Center. Read More >

Cooler, but still above normal temperatures can be expected today and Monday northeast of the Mogollon Rim. Other locations will see little to no change as northerly winds develop. By Tuesday onward, it will feel like summer, as unprecedented heat takes over the region. Take the appropriate precautions if you are planning on traveling, exercising, recreating or working outdoors over the next week.
