Severe storm chances will be on the rise this weekend with multiple rounds of storms expected. All modes of severe weather will be possible. Make sure to stay tuned to the forecast as timing and location of storms becomes more clear.
Low storms chances (=< 30%) will be possible across the Big Country late today and this evening, expanding to the Red River Valley overnight. These low chances will be shift east across the immediate Red River Valley into Northeast Texas near a stalled surface front on Wednesday. There is a severe weather threat across this Big Country through this evening with very large hail and damaging winds being the main threat, though coverage is expected to be isolated. More robust storms late tonight and Wednesday may produce hail and very gusty winds, along with frequent lightning. Highs today and Wednesday will generally be from the mid 70s to the mid 80s, with lows tonight in the 60s. Gusty southerly winds between 10 to 20 mph can be expected.
