Increasing Rain Chances

Higher than normal risk of rip currents to continue Saturday.

An Air Quality Alert and Ozone Action Day have been issued for Saturday, October 10, 2026, by the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston. Atmospheric conditions will be favorable for producing high levels of ozone pollution in the Houston, Galveston, and surrounding areas through Saturday evening, resulting in conditions that are unhealthy for sensitive groups. Residents are encouraged to limit driving, carpool, and schedule outdoor activities for early or late in the day to minimize exposure and emissions.

The forecast indicates warm and dry conditions with high temperatures ranging from 84 to 94°F, low humidity, and mostly clear skies. Light winds are expected to veer to the southeast with breezier winds along the coast.

Moisture levels increase Monday and Tuesday, resulting in an increase chance of scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. However, strong ridging aloft could potentially limit rainfall coverage. So there is some uncertainty regarding the rainfall chances in southeast Texas during that time frame.
