The map below shows 2-day snowfall totals over northern Indiana, southern lower Michigan, and northwest Ohio as of around 9a on 1-20-09. Several bands of lake effect snow affected this region before one dominant band emerged, spreading snowfall across a broad area as it shifted west and east. The heaviest snow fell just to the west in Porter County with some locations reporting over 15" of snow. Much appreciation is extended to emergency managers, trained snow spotters, CoCoRaHS, and cooperative program observers for these reports.
