Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible for areas mainly along and north of Interstate 20 Thursday evening through Friday. Damaging wind gusts are the main threat, with hail up to quarter size also possible.
Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are anticipated through the day across the region, especially late this afternoon. Clouds will likely hold high temperatures at or below 90 degrees in many locations across central and western zones, although muggy lower 90s are more likely over portions of eastern and southeastern Mississippi where heat index values could exceed 100 degrees.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected tonight especially northwest of the Natchez trace.
Numerous showers and thunderstorms will continue across the region Thursday. Highs will be held below normal in most areas.
