The flood extent areas depicted within this map were compiled using experimental modeling techniques and historical floods of record documentation and accounts, in coordination with emergency management officials and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. 

NOTE: These inundation areas are approximate and are estimates.  They are for informational purposes only. Do NOT use for life-critical decisions.  Always listen and heed local county and city officials if evacuation orders occur in your area or neighborhood. 

Depicted are approximated inundation areas from 28 feet (Flood Stage) to 38 feet (Major Flooding) and the Flood of Record areal extent along the Pearl River and its tributaries south of the Ross Barnett Reservoir to Byram.
