Saturday: An area of low pressure and associated cold front sliding eastward into the region will allow for the formation of some isolated to scattered showers through the day, primarily in east Texas and far West Louisiana, with rain chances increasing as the day progresses. Otherwise, skies will be mostly cloudy so temperatures will largely only rise into the mid 70s across the region. Winds 7-15 mph will shift from easterly to more southeasterly/southerly throughout the day as the low gets closer.
Overnight: An area of low pressure slides by to the north, dragging a cold front through the region overnight. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible ahead of the front, with an increase in activity along the frontal passage. A few of these storms could become strong to severe with damaging wind gusts as the primary threat, but an isolated tornado or two is possible. Temperatures will remain somewhat mild, ranging from the upper 50s to upper 60s. Southerly winds ahead of the front will become northwesterly after frontal passage around 5-10 mph.
