As part of the National Weather Service's efforts to keep the public informed of current weather conditions and potential meteorological hazards, the Electronics Staff of the NWS Lake Charles has designed, constructed and installed a "push-to-listen" radio at the Calcasieu Point Landing south of Lake Charles. This is the second such installation servicing the boating and general communities (the first being located at Hebert's Marina in Big Lake, Louisiana). These "push-to-listen" radios broadcast NOAA Weather Radio for approximately 4 minutes and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Pictured are Carl Hughes, Bonnie Bishop and Ricky Guidry.
