Cooperative observer Doug Hollier of Jennings was awarded the Thomas Jefferson Award for 27 years of outstanding service to NWS Lake Charles' Co-Op program.

The Thomas Jefferson Award is the highest honor given to the NWS's volunteer cooperative observers, with only around five such awards presented annually across the nation.  Mr. Hollier was presented with the award based not only on his consistent and timely observations of weather data for Jennings, but also for his assistance with storm damage surveys and offshore weather observations.  The entire staff of the NWS in Lake Charles would like to congratulate Doug on this great accomplishment.
