Showers and Thunderstorms; Fire Weather Threats

A series of cold fronts will produce showers and a few strong thunderstorms across parts of the High Plains and into the northern Rockies, and the Mid-Atlantic. Strong, dry winds in the northern Plains, 4-Corners area, and the Southeast will produce elevated fire weather threats. Locally heavy rain may cause flash flooding in Hawaii. Read More >

All three of the following criteria must be met or exceeded in order for an Elevated Fire Danger to exist 

Sustained 20 ft Winds: 12-15 mph

Relative Humidity: 25-30%

10 hr Dead Fuel Moisture: 9-10%
