Scattered thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and evening. A few of these storms could become severe and produce hail to the size of golfballs, wind gusts to 65 mph and locally heavy rainfall. Locations along and south of a line from Lubbock to Paducah are most favored to see the severe thunderstorms. Additionally, sustained northeasterly winds may exceed 30 mph across the southwest Texas Panhandle and western South Plains behind the cold front this evening.
Rain chances will continue tonight into Wednesday morning. There will also be gusty northerly winds.
