January at Pine Bluff was nearly four degrees above average. While
it was indeed warm, it was nowhere near record levels. The coldest
period of the month was in the second and third week. Otherwise,
much of the remainder of the month saw daily temperatures as
high as five to 20 degrees above average.
Rainfall was well above average for the month, and it was the
wettest January in seven years. There were 17 days with measurable
rainfall, which was the most in January in 70 years (since 1950).
For the second January in a row, no measurable snow fell.
