.Summary...
October at Harrison went the complete opposite of September in terms
of temperatures and rainfall. Whereas September was drier than
average and record warm, October ended up being one of the wettest,
as well as the coolest in ten years.
Temperatures began the month in the 80s and peaked at 90 degrees in
the first few days. However, things turned around beginning on the
6th and never completely recovered. The coldest period came in the
last three days of the month, when daily readings were as much as 15
to 20 degrees below average.
Rainfall was fairly evenly distributed throughout the month, though
was heaviest in the first two weeks. It was the wettest October in
ten years.
For the first time in 18 years, snow fell during the month. Though
it was not measurable, sleet and snow fell on the 30th and 31st.

The average high temperature was the coldest in ten years (since
2009). The average low temperature was the coldest in 26 years
(since 1993). The average monthly temperature was the coldest in ten
years (since 2009).

Temperatures were above average on nine days, average on one day, and
below average during the remaining 21 days.
There was one day with a temperature of 90 degrees, which was the
first time since 2015. However, there were only four days with highs
at or above 80, which was the fewest since 2013.
There were three days with lows at or below freezing, which was the
most since 2017. There were three days with highs cooler than 50
degrees, which was the most in October since 1981.
The first freeze was on October 12, and this was the earliest first
freeze in 19 years (since 2000).

21st - A wind gust of 52 MPH from the west was recorded as a strong
thunderstorm passed over the city. This set an all-time record wind
gust for the month of October at Harrison. The previous record was
46 MPH on October 26, 2010. This most recently tied November 30,
1975 for the 14th highest wind gust on record at Harrison. (Wind
records at Harrison have been kept since August 15, 1944).
