Coop Max/Min Temperature Products

The short-range text messages (MCG) contains maximum and minimum temperatures for 1 to 4 days from the 0000, 0600, 1200, and 1800 UTC GFS model runs. The extended-range text message (MCX) contains maximum and minimum temperature forecasts for 1 to 8 days from the 0000 UTC and 1200 GFS model runs.

Attention users: Due to discontinuation of deprecated GRIB1 files used in MOS image generation, these products will be discontinued on or about Tuesday, November 5, 2019. MOS text bulletin data will continue to be available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Data Download

Messages can be found on NWS FTP Server. The files can be found in following directory/filename structure, where YYYYMMDD is the run datestamp, and the CC is the cycle. These data will be available for two days. (Example: http://ftpprd.ncep.noaa.gov/data/nccf/com/gfs/prod/gfsmos.20161120/mdl_gfsmcg.t00z)
