July precipitation amounts were generally below normal across the Tri State area, with some pockets of above normal. 
The seasonal outlook indicates that where drought currently exists it is expected to persist through October.

Drought intensity and Extent by County

Extreme Drought: Cheyenne (Colorado)
Severe Drought: Red Willow, Decatur, Norton, Greeley, Wichita
Moderate Drought: Hitchcock, Sheridan, Graham, Sherman, Wallace, Kit Carson
Abnormally Dry: Yuma, Dundy, Cheyenne (Kansas), Rawlins, Logan

        Star is centered on Goodland in all following maps. 

July Precipitation - Observed
Actual precipitation amounts in July varied by a large amount. Most of the area saw 2-4” (yellow and orange shading), though there were pockets of heavier amounts (red) as well as pockets of lower amounts (green). 

July Precipitation - Departure from Normal
July precipitation amounts compared to normal were generally below normal (yellow shading), but there were pockets of above normal (green).
