Moderate drought conditions are present in portions of northwest Indiana and extreme southwest Michigan Abnormally dry conditions are present in a broad area of northwest IN and also east-central Indiana U.S. Drought Monitor Drought intensity and Extent D1 (Moderate Drought): Multiple counties in northwest Indiana and extreme southwest Michigan D0 (Abnormally Dry): A broad area of western Indiana and a small area south of Fort Wayne Precipitation Very little rain has fallen over the past 7-days. Right - Climate Prediction Center Monthly Precipitation Outlook. Valid July 2025 Long-Range Outlooks Released on 6/30, above-normal temperatures are favored for July. As of this writing, the average temperature has been about 2 to 3 degrees above normal this month. There are no clear signals to nudge precipitation above or below normal; thus, equal chances is the outlook. As of this writing, both South Bend and Fort Wayne are about 1 inch below normal for rainfall. Drought Outlook Drought conditions are anticipated to be relatively short-lived, with improvement anticipated later in the summer.
