A heat advisory is in effect for portions of southeast Arkansas and northwest Mississippi this afternoon. Heat index values will be 105F or greater. A few strong to severe storms are possible across the Mid-South later tonight through tomorrow morning. Primary hazards will be damaging winds and heavy rainfall. Heat issues will be likely this weekend through next week.
Strong to severe storms are possible across much of the Mid-South overnight into early Sunday morning. The primary hazard will be damaging wind.
A Heat Advisory is in effect for much of east-central Arkansas and portions of northwest Mississippi through 7 PM today. Heat index values will top out around 105 degrees this afternoon, resulting in an increased risk of heat-related illness. These heat concerns will continue through much of next week.
