Severe Weather Expected This Evening

Thunderstorms will develop this evening across central and southern Wisconsin. Some of these storms are expected to become severe, producing damaging winds up to 70 mph and large hail up to 2 inches in diameter. A tornado is also possible. Please check the radar frequently today, keep up with the forecast, and have a way to receive warnings.

Thunderstorms have yet to develop, but the approximate timing that they would arrive in southern WI is in the graphic below. The thunderstorms should end from north to south during the overnight hours.

Here's the latest severe thunderstorm outlook from the Storm Prediction Center. Keep in mind that this is a general idea of where the greatest risk for severe weather is. If you are outside of the Enhanced area (in the Slight risk area), you could still have severe thunderstorms. Please keep an eye on the radar and have a way to receive warnings.
