For all fisherman, boaters, kayakers, and general overall users of inland lakes of south central and southeast Wisconsin, the National Weather Service in Milwaukee is now preparing a forecast tailored for you!  

Each day through the warm months at around 3 am and 3:30 pm, the NWS distributes an experimental forecast for the inland lakes across the area.  The forecast includes wave heights, weather, temperature, winds and an estimate of the surface water temperature.

Forecasts are available for the larger inland lakes across south central and southeast Wisconsin including the Madison chain of lakes, Green Lake, Lake Geneva, Lake Wisconsin, Lake Country lakes of Waukesha County, and the southern portion of Lake Winnebago.  

All you need to do to view the forecast is either click or hover over the lake you are interested in.  Here is an example for Lake Winnebago:

A four day forecast is displayed, including a forecast for wave heights for each period.  Also, an estimated surface water temperature of the lake will be displayed for the first two forecast periods.
