The National Weather Service is seeking dedicated volunteers to make daily backyard rain and snow measurements in a national program called CoCoRahs.  Wisconsin has been part of CoCoRahs since 2007.  The data sent in by members is used for many purposes by government science agencies, the insurance industry, engineers, city utilities, emergency managers, drought monitors, your community neighbors, etc.  The expectation is daily measurements and reports sent in by 830 am, if possible. Multi-day accumulations can also be done after absences.

All the information you need for registration, training, where to purchase a low-cost rain gauge, educational webinars, sending in daily reports is at: cocorahs.org
