Rain returns to the region towards the middle of next week, as a deep trough develops in the northeastern Pacific and moves towards the West Coast. The most intense rain is expected late Wednesday and Thursday, along with a slight chance for thunderstorms. Lighter rain is possible on Friday into the upcoming weekend. Rainfall amounts are still uncertain, particularly regarding the latter part of next week. Potential impacts include wet roadways, elevated levels on creeks and streams, and nuisance flooding. Hazardous beach conditions will persist through Saturday morning at all Pacific Coast beaches. Stay off of waterside infrastructure, remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions, and never turn your back on the ocean!
Higher than normal tides are expected this week thanks to a Supermoon taking place on November 5th. The Supermoon brings the highest (and lowest) tides of all and can result in coastal flooding. A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect now through 2 PM PST Saturday. #CAwx
