Notification of Change in Flood Levels for Paradise Creek at University of Idaho

The National Weather Service in Spokane, Washington has adjusted the flood warning levels for the river forecast point Paradise Creek at University of Idaho, effective July 22, 2026. The flood warning level, or flood stage, is the river level at which a flood warning is issued by the National Weather Service to warn of expected flooding impacts.
Paradise Creek at University of Idaho gauge was recently moved downstream by less than half a mile by the USGS to accommodate a bridge replacement. The gauge datum was changed with this relocation to prevent negative stage readings and therefore action, minor and moderate flood stages need to be changed to accommodate the datum shift. The new stage values represent the same discharge of the old stages so no change is being made to the discharge that triggers flood products and warnings.
